We have been entrusted with the development of an important project for 2 Modul-Art casting lines by one of the largest foundry players in the world market. These lines will produce the cylinder head of a Volkswagen engine in 2015.
THE CHALLENGE
In 2014 we were contacted by one of the most important foundries in the world to participate in the creation of a new production point in Russia where the m2 available to build the plant was very limited 109m3 and the pieces to be produced were many, 15 pieces per head molding machine cylinders for Volkswagen!
THE SOLUTION
With our ModulArt gravity casting philosophy we managed to find a very interesting configuration in which we placed the ModulArt beam with the molding gantry / casting gantry / unloading robot + 2 crucible furnaces + 1 degasser + 1 core loading conveyor + 3 shells + 10 pre-cooling stations + core breaking + casting truncation and discharge onto a cooling tunnel, the latter also very innovative, but that's another story.
THE RESULTS
Once the Lay-out was defined with the Customer and this time it is worth saying, it was truly tailor-made, the first 2 casting lines were supplied and thanks to the optimization of the spaces it will be possible to install another 2 lines.

The customer was very satisfied with the good result obtained and above all because we achieved both objectives of optimizing the spaces and the high productivity required.
