THE CHALLENGE
We were presented with the possibility of creating a line for the assembly of cores intended for the cast iron casting of large V8 engines for heavy vehicles.

After careful studies by our team and with the awareness of testing for the first time a new core assembly system of such large dimensions, the proposal was accepted.

THE SOLUTION
The cell or rather the "core assembly line", designed and built to compose large cores, involves a manual pre-positioning of 5 small parts, a robot picking up two "basic cores" coming out of the drying oven, the assembly of two complete core packs using robots, the deposit of the cores in dedicated baskets, taking them to the three-tier palletiser ready to be picked up when needed.

THE DIFFICULTY
Precision during assembly with little margin for error.

The temperature here can exceed 40°C, this means that the electronic devices inside electrical panels must be adequate and therefore a reason for study and calculation.

Being a very dusty environment, dust is a daily threat, forcing us to protect every device, especially the most delicate ones: pneumatic valves, photoelectric barriers, laser sensors and vision systems.

THE RESULTS
Making a new system work that you have never tried before is undoubtedly one of the most satisfying things.

But I would add that in this part of the world the satisfaction in seeing a finished project is not limited to the thought of "taking home" an approval which is certainly very important, but above all it is the happiness and desire to celebrate that can be read in the eyes of the our Mexican colleagues.
