UK 2012 CAROUSEL REVIEW
A CAROUSEL IS AN ATTRACTION FOR CHILDREN. IT ONCE CONSISTED OF A PLATFORM ROTATING ON A VERTICAL AXIS ON WHICH WERE MAINLY WOODEN HORSES OR SOMETIMES OTHER KINDS OF ANIMALS WERE MOUNTED, ON WHICH CHILDREN WERE SEATED IN SADDLES.
A mechanical system that gave the oscillation, gave the sensation that the horse was galloping. The movement was given by hand pushes usually by the operator through poles anchored externally to the rotating platform of the carousel.
Only around 1860 was man replaced by the steam engine, until the electric engine appeared around the 1950s/60s and has continued to improve until... the present day.
Just like the Carousel which was created to entertain children, the Carousels (or Carousels) in the foundry turn and produce through casting benches which are practically like... little horses for the carousel.
The story of the birth of the Carousel is old, but it has always been evolving just as casting Carousels are for us.
THE CHALLENGE
Since the first years of its activity, Artimpianti has dedicated itself to the assembly, revision and supply of casting carousels/carousels.
Experience has meant that some of the most renowned multinationals in the Automotive Aluminum Foundry sector have chosen us as their suppliers and commissioned major systems.
In particular, in 2012 Montupet UK commissioned us to completely overhaul a Carousel to obtain an increase in productivity and a lower management cost.
THE SOLUTION
The overhaul involved the complete rebuilding of the platform, of the central base complete with motorization and distribution servos, of the hardware and management software including the safety of the entire area.
Some parts traditionally built with old systems have been redesigned and created, increasing efficiency both on the production and maintenance side, making it more performing and at the same time guaranteeing a high safety standard while keeping up with regulations and systems that are always evolving .
THE RESULTS
Having submitted the new solutions to the customer and comparing and collaborating with him, in order to obtain the maximum result, the outcome was very positive, having thus found a good compromise between production and maintenance, always in the name of safety.
CUSTOMER COMMENT
The Client was satisfied with the result obtained, so much so that he indicated it as a good example of efficiency and collaboration.
